HR Certification

HR Certification is the industry standard for HR professionals and recognises HR capability as a combination of acquired knowledge, professional behaviours and the application of skills.

HR certification can be achieved through one of the four pathways, dependent on your experience, skills and education.

The National Certification Council oversees the HR standards, administration and credentialing of eligible candidates seeking HR certification.

Upon successful completion of a HR certification pathway, AHRI members are awarded a Certified HR Practitioner credential.

These credentials signify successful candidates have:

  • Achieved a cognitive mastery of globally benchmarked HR knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated the capability to apply these knowledge and skills in the workplace
  • Made a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)

What people are saying about HR certification

"HR certification is a true indication that a level of professional capability to deliver performance improvement has been achieved."

Craig Mason,
Founder & Group Managing Director, The Next Step

"Completing AHRI's HR certification program is about taking shared responsibility for the profession as a whole. It's usually the CFO who is seen as the second in command, but if HR is to have a seat at the table it has to be genuinely seen as an equal and to have professional standards that we are held accountable to."

Clare Murphy, FCPHR
Director of People and Strategy, St Michael's Grammar School, and 2016 AHRI Award Winner
