Workforce Planning - Foundations
Short Course
Course Overview
This introductory course provides the foundations for approaching the development of a workforce plan in partnership with the business. It highlights the collaborative role that Human Resource professionals play in facilitating the co-development of the plan to ensure it is business owned and led.
The dynamic nature of the global economy, rapid technological advancements, shifting political landscapes, evolving demographics, competitive labour markets and changing societal perspectives, are key drivers for the importance of working in strategic partnership with our businesses to undertake workforce planning and inform our people initiatives. This approach ensures the organisation is effectively positioned to cultivate the workforce required in the future.
This course delves into the key components of workforce planning and outlines practical “how-to” approaches for establishing the problem statement, collaborating with key stakeholders, identifying critical capabilities, evaluating at-risk job roles, assessing workforce risks, and establishing implementable and measurable actions. Participants will walk away with a greater understanding of where to start and how to deliver a workforce plan. We also offer a Workforce Planning – Advanced program.
