Biography

James Hancock has strong expertise in organisational design and development, training and facilitation, talent management, diversity and inclusion, customer/employee centered design and ways of working (e.g. agile and scrum) gained from diverse HR, strategy, digital and business management roles.   

In Australia he was recognised on HRD’s 2024 Hotlist, and his US work saw him win the 2021 ‘HR Consultant of the Year’ in the Philadelphia Society of HRM awards. Since returning to Australia, he’s become heavily involved in the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) – joining as a NSW State Councilor and receiving Fellow Certification. He has also recently graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).   

James holds a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Psychology from Macquarie University, a Certificate IV in HR and is a Design Thinker and Certified Scrum Product Owner. He loves working with a broad range of people across industries, roles, levels, and perspectives to understand and move forward the most complex of challenges. 

James joined Mwah. As a co-founder in 2018 working with clients across Australia and North America. Acting as an advisor to CEOs, CPOs, and Boards, Mwah. is sought after by Australia’s best organisations (across private sector, government, NFP, and high-performance sport) to work on culture and leadership. The team has become valued partners based on their measurable impact and for taking a very different approach to mapping, measuring and understanding organisational culture, and applying a strengths-based approach to evolving culture to be a critical lever for the success of both individuals and organisations.
