The four-month program for groups of 6 or more people offers a cohesive learning experience covering three critical topics.
HR Law
Month one
Test and apply knowledge by examining current case law through up to 10 real case studies, covering complex and significant issues. Workshop and discuss each example to extract sound, evidence-based principles, language and criteria to guide and inform workplace decision making.
- Workshops: 2 x 1.5 hours
Key Learning Outcomes
- Explain and apply the test for a valid reason for dismissal and a constructive dismissal.
- Assess evidence and draw appropriate conclusions.
- Evaluate conduct which may or may not justify termination.
- Identify, assess and correct defects to ensure procedural fairness.
- Identify and manage potential sources of bias and conflict.
- Consider and justify inherent requirements, accommodations and flexible work decisions.
Change Management
Month two
Be better prepared to lead your organisation through transformation by understanding change dynamics at an individual, team and organisational level. Identify the change lifecycle steps required to effectively manage change and apply the most suitable change management model and framework for your organisation.

Internal HR Consulting Skills
Month three – four
HR practitioners are expected to be internal consultants to line managers and senior managers and to deliver people management solutions that drive business performance. Build the skills and knowledge to move from a transactional HR role to a strategic HR business partnering role with a consultative focus.

- Adopt an internal consulting approach to business issues and stakeholder management.
- Build and maintain internal relationships to become an effective business partner.
