Through two case studies, participants will explore the unique challenges that can arise when employees are working away from their usual support networks and environments.
The discussion will focus on:
-
An international student who has completed her studies and transitioned into a hybrid work environment in Australia.
-
An experienced Australian manager undertaking an assignment in the Middle East.
Using these real-world scenarios, we will examine:
-
Common psychosocial hazards and mental health risks associated with remote, hybrid, and international work arrangements.
-
The impact of isolation, cultural adjustment, role expectations, and work-life boundaries on employee wellbeing.
-
The responsibilities of employers, leaders, and HR professionals in identifying and managing psychosocial risks.
-
Practical strategies to support employee wellbeing, prevent harm, and create psychologically safe work environments.
Participants will leave with a greater understanding of psychosocial hazards and practical approaches to supporting wellbeing in today’s evolving workplace.
