WA Book Club – November (Podcast)
November 5 @ 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM AWST
Free - $20.00WA Book Club Network
For our November HR Book (Podcast) Club, we’re listening to the HBR On Leadership episode “How Leaders Create the Conditions for Innovative Thinking”, featuring Harvard Business School professor Linda Hill.
Drawing on her new book, Genius at Scale: How Great Leaders Drive Innovation, Linda explains why leading innovation calls for a different set of leadership skills. Rather than focusing on making the decisions and producing the answers, leaders create the conditions for collaboration, experimentation and good decision-making across teams and organisations. She also describes three leadership roles (Architect, Bridger and Catalyst), with examples from organisations including Mastercard and Pixar.
We’ll discuss what this means for HR and people professionals, including how we build cultures where new ideas can be tested and shared, and how we develop leaders who can work across boundaries.
The episode is about 30 minutes long, so there’s plenty of time to listen before the session. Whether you’ve listened closely or simply want to join the conversation, come along for an hour of discussion, nibbles and connection with others in the WA HR community.
This is our final session for 2026. We’ll be back in February with our summer holiday read.
