AHRI QLD
State President Quarterly Message

Q3 2026 Message

Dear AHRI QLD members,

Welcome to the latest update from the AHRI QLD State Council.

Presidents Showcase: Celebrating HR Excellence

Last quarter, we celebrated the President’s Showcase, a wonderful opportunity to recognise HR excellence across Queensland. The event celebrated our long-standing AHRI members and their incredible contribution to the profession, alongside our newly Certified Practitioners and Fellows as they reached important milestones in their HR journey.

It was a special evening of recognition, connection and celebration, shining a light on the people who continue to strengthen and shape our profession.

Empowering delegates to ROAR at AHRI's National Convention & Exhibition 2026

Earlier this month, more than 1,700 HR professionals, valued partners, sponsors, speakers and volunteers gathered in Brisbane for three days of learning, connection and inspiration at AHRI’s National Convention & Exhibition 2026. We were pleased to see 661 delegates from QLD attend the event.

Centred around the theme ‘I Am HR, Hear Me ROAR‘ this year’s Convention challenged delegates to boldly step forward in their role as strategic players, challenge the status quo and return to their workplaces equipped with practical insights and actionable strategies to drive impact.

At Convention, AHRI also announced a new product, the HR Team Capability Assessment, set to launch in September 2026. Designed to support HR leaders in building high-performing teams, the assessment enables organisations to benchmark team capability against the Australian HR profession, helping leaders prioritise development efforts and build capability where it matters most.

IHRD & Volunteer of the Year winner

International HR Day was celebrated on 20 May, and it was wonderful to see so many of you join our events to mark the occasion. It also gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate and congratulate Nathan Atkinson CPHR on being named the 2025 Volunteer of the Year in QLD.

We also celebrated our former council member Aaron Francis FCPHR who was awarded the AHRI President’s Award for service given to AHRI over many years.

Congratulations, Aaron and thank you for your significant contribution to AHRI and the HR profession.

Thank you for your continued support of AHRI and the HR profession.
