Biography

Mia Handshin is a visionary leader, inspirational speaker, dynamic facilitator and coach with a background in the law, politics and the media. She has a gift for sparking life-changing insight, unearthing strategic brilliance, and illuminating new ways of leading.  

A passionate champion for global change for more than 30 years, Mia advocated for children’s rights at UNESCO’s General Assembly in Paris, interned at the Brussels-based International Crisis Group during the Iraq war, and was a vocal proponent of Australian constitutional reform. As a newspaper columnist for a decade, Mia reached weekly audiences of up to 200,000 readers. 

After narrowly missing election to Federal Parliament in 2007, Mia became an Adviser to the Australian Government before becoming Associate Director at a national government relations and strategic advisory firm. In addition to being the youngest female Chair of the South Australian Environment Protection Authority (2012-2016), Mia has spent the past decade inspiring and developing thousands of leaders and teams around the world to consciously shape better futures.
