Beyond the Tick Box, Making Mandatory DEI-Related Training Effective and Meaningful
November 12 @ 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM AEDT
Free - $20.00ACT Diversity and Inclusion Network
Grab a coffee and join the conversation. This virtual session brings together HR and DEI practitioners from across Australia for an informal discussion on a challenge most of us know well: DEI-related training, often showing up as respectful workplace, harassment and discrimination, or unconscious bias training, that exists to satisfy a compliance requirement.
Mandatory training isn’t going anywhere, and often the methodology is locked in too: virtual, self-directed, one-size-fits-all. So what can we actually do with the parts we can change? We’ll dig into where the real barriers (and the overlooked opportunities) sit within that constraint, and separate having to do it from how we do it.
Bring your experiences, your frustrations, and your ideas, and let’s talk about what HR can actually do to influence not just the training itself, but the systems around it, so DEI-related training is effective and meaningful, not just another box ticked.
