Welcome to the latest update from the AHRI VIC State Council.
As we begin the new financial year, the VIC State Council has refreshed our member engagement plan, including a renewed approach to networking events that will create more opportunities to connect, learn and engage with your HR peers. Empowering delegates to ROAR at AHRI's National Convention & Exhibition 2026
Earlier this month, more than 1,700 HR professionals, valued partners, sponsors, speakers and volunteers gathered in Brisbane for three days of learning, connecting and inspiration at AHRI’s National Convention & Exhibition 2026. We were pleased to see 208 delegates from Victoria attend the event.
Centred around the theme ‘I Am HR, Hear Me ROAR‘ this year’s Convention challenged delegates to boldly step forward in their role as strategic players, challenge the status quo and return to their workplaces equipped with practical insights and actionable strategies to drive impact.
At Convention, AHRI also announced a new product, the HR Team Capability Assessment, set to launch in September 2026. Designed to support HR leaders in building high-performing teams, the assessment enables organisations to benchmark team capability against the Australian HR profession, helping leaders prioritise development efforts and build capability where it matters most.
IHRD & Volunteer of the Year winner
International HR Day was celebrated on 20 May, and it was wonderful to see so many of you join our events to mark the occasion. It also gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate and congratulate Chloe Batchelor MAHRI on being named the 2025 Volunteer of the Year in VIC.
AHRI VIC Conference 2026
A big thank you to the 378 people who joined us at the AHRI VIC Conference 2026: HR Powered by People.
With Victoria facing one of the lowest productivity growth rates in Australia, this year’s conference brought together HR professionals, business leaders and industry experts to explore how HR can act as the strategic engine that drives organisational performance, growth and workplace transformation. Attendees gained practical insights and actionable strategies to help build agile, future-ready workplaces and strengthen organisational resilience.
Thank you to our outstanding speakers for generously sharing their expertise, as well as our partners, exhibitors, sponsors and attendees for contributing to such an engaging and insightful event. I would also like to acknowledge our State Council members for their dedication in planning and hosting the conference. Finally, thank you to our Student Ambassadors for joining us at the AHRI VIC State Conference. As a Council, we firmly believe that investing in the next generation of HR professionals is essential to the future of our profession.
We are proud of the strong partnerships we have developed with universities across Victoria and remain committed to supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate students as they begin their HR careers.
We look forward to continuing the conversation and connecting with you at future AHRI events.
