General

AHRI Education, Events & Membership Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to your:  

  • application for membership with; or 
  • application for an award or scholarship; or
  • enrolment in a learning course held by; and/or 
  • attendance at an event held by, 

the Australian Human Resources Institute Limited (AHRI, we, us, our). It is your responsibility to review these terms and conditions prior to application or registration/enrolment.  

By signing up for an event or educational course or making an application for membership, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and will provide the most recent version on our website. 

Payment

General: All prices are inclusive of GST, except for our formal education courses which are GST free.  

Payment for events and courses: Payment in full is required by the registration closing date in order to attend. Anyone that has not completed payment will not be on the registration list and may not be admitted to the course/event or receive their link to the online platform.  

Membership fees: Individual annual membership fees are due in full on joining AHRI or on anniversary of joining. We generally send you a reminder approximately 1-2 months before the renewal date. Membership fees are non refundable.  

Organisation membership: Upon receipt of a signed organisation membership application, a signed member statement (if renewing), or email confirmation that you wish to renew your existing membership, your organisation will be invoiced. Once the invoice has been issued, the organisation’s membership is non-refundable. Should there be any changes within your organisation, you can at any time add additional members. Organisation membership will only be invoiced to the organisation. AHRI is unable to issue your staff members with individual invoices under this membership category.  

Failure to pay membership fees: AHRI membership fees are due annually from the date on which you joined AHRI. If you do not pay your membership fees, you will cease to be an AHRI member and be removed from the AHRI active member database from the first day of the third month following your membership renewal date. Membership benefits will be restricted for all non-financial members. Non-financial professional members are not covered by the AHRI Pro-Cover Insurance policy. If your membership does lapse you must not use any AHRI professional designation after your name or otherwise claim to be a member of AHRI.  

Invoices: When you complete and sign your copy of a registration or membership application form, this becomes a tax invoice in compliance with ATO requirements. This can be used to make payment by, Credit Card or cheque and you can keep this completed form on file for your tax records.
 Please note:  AHRI’s invoice payment terms for events and courses are 14 days from date of issue or the close of enrolment/registration, whichever is earlier.   

Costs incurred by AHRI in processing fees: All external costs incurred by AHRI in the processing of fees will be charged back to you. Such costs include, but are not limited to, bounced cheques fees and related bank charges.  

CPD – Continuing Professional Development

Requirement for membership: In order to maintain membership, members (excluding associate members) are required to comply with AHRI’s CPD policy. AHRI may conduct annual audits of a random selection of members to check compliance with the CPD requirements. Members who have not maintained the minimum number of CPD hours may be regraded to the level of Associate member.  

Recording of CPD points: AHRI members who pre-register for an AHRI course or event will have their CPD record updated automatically upon the completion of the programme. It is the responsibility of AHRI members who attend external events or courses, view on-demand recordings of events or complete other CPD eligible activities to update their own CPD record manually. View the CPD Guide for details. AHRI members who have registered for an event/course but are unable to attend, are responsible for notifying AHRI of non-attendance by emailing [email protected]. Records of attendance are maintained on file by AHRI for auditing purposes. For all CPD queries, please contact [email protected].  

Privacy Notice 

AHRI is concerned with the protection of your privacy. AHRI collects and stores your personal information in accordance with the privacy principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as amended, for the purposes of providing membership services, education and training programs, and to manage our relationship with you. You consent to us collecting, holding, using, and disclosing your information for the following purposes:

Communication from AHRI: AHRI may use your details to promote products and services in the form of email communications and/or other types of communication. Update your personal AHRI website profile preferences or email [email protected] if you would prefer not to receive communications from AHRI.

For the purposes of course administration: Your details may be provided to parties directly related to the administration of the course including the venues in which the course is to take place and any third-party course facilitators.

For the purposes of an event: Your details may be provided to parties directly related to the event including the event registration manager, venues, and accommodation providers for the purpose of room bookings, catering needs and other conference options. Irrespective of your profile preferences AHRI will send you confirmation, reminder and follow up emails, and other communications, that directly relate to the event you have registered for.

Communication from third parties: AHRI may share your details with sponsors and exhibitors following the programme for promotional purposes (as per sponsorship contracts). Should you not wish your details to be shared with the sponsors and exhibitors contact [email protected] to opt out. View AHRI’s full privacy policy.

Other 

If any provision of these terms and conditions is deemed invalid or unenforceable, all or part of that provision will be severed from the terms and conditions and will not affect the enforceability of the remaining provisions of the terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. 

AHRI Awards

Conditions of entry

By submitting an entry into the AHRI Awards Program (AHRI Awards) conducted by the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) to win the prizes as set out in these terms and conditions you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. Any entry not complying with these terms and conditions will be deemed invalid.

Entry is open only to residents of Australia who comply with these terms and conditions of entry. Employees or contractors and the direct and indirect families of AHRI are not entitled to enter the AHRI Awards.

AHRI Award applicants must be employed by or provide services to an Australian-based operation to be eligible for entry and the submission must be based on the program/initiative/strategy implemented within the Australian-based operation.

The prizes for each AHRI Award are available to view on the AHRI website.

To enter, entrants must visit the AHRI website and follow the submission guidelines for Individual Awards or Organisation Awards.

Submissions must be received in accordance with the submission guidelines for the selected award. Applicants that fail to do so may be asked to resubmit or will be determined invalid at AHRI’s discretion.

By entering the AHRI Awards, you warrant that all information provided to AHRI throughout the application and submission process is true and correct. All entries must be an original creation of the entrant only and the entrant represents and warrants that the entry will not infringe any third-party rights. Entries must not have been published previously and/or have been used to win prizes in any other competition.

Entry is limited to one entry per person/organisation, per AHRI Award. If an entrant enters more than once, their first entry will be judged, and any subsequent entries will be invalid. Any form of automated entry using any other devices or software is invalid. Entrants must only enter in their own name.

All valid entries received during the Application Period will be judged on skill and individual merit. Refer to Awards webpage for finalist announcement date. AHRI’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

AHRI reserves the right to disqualify entries to the AHRI Awards program for:

  1. a) non-compliance with AHRI’s terms and conditions; or
  2. b) if you, your business, or your representatives are involved in any conduct or activity in any way (including of a personal or business nature) that is illegal; is fraudulent; may harm AHRI (and any related entities), AHRI’s name or reputation; or breaches these terms.

The winner consents to participating in any promotion associated with the AHRI Awards, including their name and bibliographical information being published in all media.

AHRI, the sponsors and patrons of the AHRI Awards and its agencies will not be liable for any loss or damage, or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the AHRI Awards or accepting or using any prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law). AHRI accepts no responsibility for any tax liabilities that may arise from winning any prize. Independent financial advice should be sought by the prize winner as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.

If the AHRI Awards are interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated by due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of AHRI, AHRI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law and subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the AHRI Awards as appropriate.

These terms and conditions will be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia

 

Payment

All application fees are inclusive of GST. Award applications must be paid in full at the time of application and are non-refundable. AHRI will not accept submissions until full payment is received.

Privacy policy

You consent to AHRI’s use and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes of conducting the AHRI Awards and for other purposes further in AHRI’s privacy policy.

AHRI Scholarships

By applying for the AHRI Scholarship Program (the Program) conducted by the Australian HR Institute (AHRI, our, we, us) for the opportunity to receive the funding set out in these terms and conditions and on our website, you accept these terms and conditions. Any application not complying with these terms and conditions will be deemed invalid.

Eligibility: Scholarship funding is open only to residents of Australia who meet these eligibility criteria. Employees or contractors and the direct    and indirect families of AHRI are not entitled to apply. Applicants must be employed by or provide services to an Australian-based operation to be eligible and (if relevant) the submission must be based on a program/initiative/strategy implemented within the Australian-based operation.

Application Period: Refer to AHRI scholarships webpage for application close and open dates. Late applications will not be accepted.

Legal Terms: AHRI, the sponsors and patrons of the AHRI Scholarships and its agencies will not be liable for any loss or damage, or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the AHRI Scholarships or accepting or using any funding, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law). AHRI accepts no responsibility for any tax liabilities that may arise from being awarded any funding. Independent financial advice should be sought by the successful applicants as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the funding.

If the AHRI Scholarship program is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated by due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of AHRI, AHRI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law and subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the AHRI   Scholarship program as appropriate.

AHRI reserves the right to disqualify applications into the AHRI Scholarships program for:

  1. non-compliance with AHRI’s terms and conditions; or
  2. if you, your business, or your representatives are involved in any conduct or activity in any way (including of a personal or business nature) that is illegal; is fraudulent; may harm AHRI (and any related entities) or AHRI’s name or reputation.

These terms and conditions will be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia.

Further terms applicable to those awarded an AHRI Scholarship

If you are awarded an AHRI Scholarship you (Recipient) agree to accept these further terms:

Scholarship prizes:

Recipients of the AHRI APC scholarship must enrol in the APC program within 12 months of receiving the scholarship. Recipients of the AHRI APC scholarship may undertake the APC program by the delivery mode of their choice. Deferrals in the APC program are consistent with public students. Any deferral fees payable will be payable by individual and are not included in the scholarship.

Recipients of the AHRI HR Student scholarship may undertake any available AHRI short course within a 12-month period of receiving the scholarship. Recipients of the AHRI HR Student scholarship must enrol in the next available mentoring program intake after receiving the scholarship.

The recipient of the Joe Fischer HR Leadership Scholarship must utilise the complimentary AHRI National Convention registration within 2 years of receiving the scholarship.

Prizes associated with AHRI scholarships are not transferrable to other AHRI products and services and are only available to the recipient of the scholarship.

Publicity: If you are awarded a scholarship, you consent to participating in any promotion associated with the AHRI Scholarships, including your name and bibliographical information being published in all media. Recipients must also agree to present to the public at an AHRI Event to present on their experience and activities connected to the AHRI Scholarship program.

Reporting: Recipients must meet any reporting deadlines outlined in the Scholarship Guidelines found on our website:  The AHRI Scholarship and Individual Scholarships. The Recipient agrees to submit a Final activities Report (in accordance with the guidelines provided by us) to AHRI, by the date outlined, on the Recipient’s activities undertaken pursuant to the AHRI Scholarship.

Payment of funds: In order to be eligible for receipt of any funding, the Recipient:

  1. must provide to AHRI verification of bank details;
  2. will be required to provide specific receipted proof of relevant expenses;
  3. must provide AHRI with access to its financial and other records relevant to the implementation and conduct of activities undertaken pursuant to the AHRI Scholarship, and with any other information relevant to expenditure of the funding at any time on request in writing;
  4. must retain receipts for purchases or payments at least until advised by AHRI that its obligations under this agreement have been discharged and for 7 years following.

Expenses: Any expenses reimbursed in connection with the AHRI Scholarship program must be pre-approved by AHRI in writing in accordance with AHRI’s guidelines. Indicative amounts for expenses are ‘up to’ amounts only and quotes must be submitted prior to AHRI approving any related expenses to be incurred in connection with the activities.

Acknowledgment of funding: The Recipient will acknowledge the funding by AHRI in relevant media releases, speeches and any other promotional opportunities by providing the following acknowledgement in a prominent format: “[This project/activity] is supported by AHRI” and by including the AHRI logo in promotional material relating to the AHRI Scholarship activities. Recipients can download the AHRI logo .

Insurance and indemnity: The Recipient is responsible for all insurance with respect of the AHRI Scholarship activities and AHRI will not be liable in any way for any losses damages costs or expenses suffered or incurred by the Recipient with respect to or connected with the activities.

To the extent allowed by law, the Recipient covenants and agrees with AHRI to indemnify and keep indemnified AHRI in respect of all losses, damages, costs and expenses suffered or incurred by AHRI, its officers, agents or employees directly or indirectly as a consequence of AHRI entering into this agreement or providing funds to the Recipient.

Without limiting the generality of the preceding paragraphs, the Recipient must ensure that it has, at all times, insurance coverage with a reputable insurer against all risks which it is prudent to insure against.

Approvals: Before granting any approval, AHRI may request further information or explanations from the Recipient, or request amendments or alterations, and will be entitled to delay its approval until such information or explanation are provided, or the requested amendments or alterations are made.

Intellectual property: The Recipient grants AHRI the right to use the Recipient’s project details, information supplied in acquittal documents, and promotional materials for corporate and promotional purposes, including use on AHRI websites, newsletters, marketing material and social media. The Recipient will provide one copy of all promotional and advertising material relating to the activities to AHRI.

The Recipient warrants that:

  1. it is the owner of any copyright comprised or to be comprised in its activities or where it is not the owner of any copyright all necessary rights clearances have been or will be obtained, and appropriate attributions made of activities;
  2. neither the activities nor its promotion will infringe the intellectual property rights, including copyright and trade mark rights, of any person or organisation;
  3. neither the activities content nor its promotion will be defamatory, or breach provisions of any contract, comprise contempt of court or passing off, be misleading or deceptive, or amount to a breach of confidence or breach of privacy;
  4. all information given or to be given to AHRI in relation to the activities (including financial information) is and will be up to date and accurate.

Variation of agreement: The Recipient will not materially vary its management of the activities without AHRI’s prior written approval. This clause pertains to all components of the agreed activities including any proposed variation to the activities and/or budget.

Termination of agreement:

If the Recipient, its officers or representatives:

  1. breach this agreement and the breach is not capable of remedy, or is otherwise not remedied following a period of 20 days after the Recipient is notified of such breach;
  2. fail to provide any report or other document to AHRI within 20 days of the due date for such report;
  3. cease to carry on business or becomes bankrupt, insolvent or unable to pay its debts;
  4. engage in any fraudulent or unlawful conduct;
  5. have engaged in any conduct that affects the goodwill or reputation of the Recipient, the activities, AHRI or other stakeholders in the AHRI Scholarship program;
  6. act or fail to act in a way that causes AHRI to believe that the activities will not proceed in accordance with this agreement;

then AHRI may in its absolute discretion:

  1. withhold, suspend or terminate any payment due to be made under this agreement or advance part payment as it deems appropriate by written notice of the Recipient;
  2. require repayment by the Recipient to AHRI of any payment made by AHRI under this agreement; and/or
  3. terminate this agreement immediately by written notice.

Effect of Termination: Without limitation to AHRI’s rights, if the agreement expires (in accordance with the agreed dates for completion) or is terminated for any other reason the Recipient will return to AHRI any payment made by AHRI but not expended under this agreement.

 

Confidentiality: A party must not disclose or permit the disclosure of any of the other party’s Confidential Information without written permission from that other party, except:

  1. where required under this agreement, including to a party’s legal and financial advisers on a confidential basis;
  2. where the information disclosed is already in the public domain other than due to a breach of this agreement; or
  3. where the disclosure is required by law.

For the purposes of this section, Confidential Information means the terms of this agreement and all information, material and technology disclosed or provided in any form by any party to any other party in connection with this agreement, save for information that is in or enters the public domain for reasons other than a breach of this agreement.

Privacy: The Recipient will:

  1. comply with all privacy laws, the Australian Privacy Principles and any reasonable and applicable AHRI policies as notified to the Recipient from time to time, even if it is not otherwise bound by them, including taking all necessary steps to protect personal information as defined under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Act) in its possession against misuse or loss;
  2. not collect, use or disclose any personal information (as defined in the Act) for any purpose other than to discharge its obligations under this agreement unless the individual otherwise consents to such collection, use or disclosure.

Assignment: The Recipient must not transfer or assign its rights or novate its obligations under this agreement without the prior written consent of AHRI, such consent not to be unreasonably withheld or delayed.

Negation of employment, partnership & agency: The Recipient must not represent itself, and must ensure that its employees, partners, agents or sub-contractors do not represent themselves, as being AHRI’s employees, partners or agents.

No further funding: Nothing contained in this agreement is to be construed as creating any obligation, commitment or undertaking by AHRI to provide additional or further funding or assistance to the Recipient in relation to the activities, beyond that provided in this agreement (if any).

Governing Law: The laws of the State of Victoria will govern this agreement and the parties submit themselves to the jurisdiction of the courts in the State of Victoria.

Privacy policy: You consent to AHRI’s use and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes of conducting the AHRI Scholarships program and for other purposes further in AHRI’s privacy policy.

Events and Learning Courses

The following terms and conditions apply specifically to our courses and events

Your conduct at courses and events

Health & Safety: You must agree to comply with the required health and safety processes and protocols in place at the event or forum where it is conducted, including any laws or government restrictions (where not conducted online). You must not attend in-person if you have symptoms of any illness such as a high temperature, dry cough, sore throat or runny nose.

Behaviour: You are expected to behave in a professional and appropriate manner when participating in an AHRI event/course. AHRI reserves the right to prohibit entry of any person to an AHRI event or eject any person from a course or event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by AHRI staff and/or its agents and others working under its authority. You acknowledge that cameras, audio, and video recorders may not be permitted at certain venues or events and must not be used to record online courses without permission.  

Canvassing: is strictly prohibited at AHRI events/courses. Promotional materials may not be distributed at the venue or online classroom except by approved sponsors. If you violate this policy, you will be asked to leave and AHRI members may have their membership revoked.  

Registration Discounts

General: AHRI may from time to time have promotional offers, including without limitation discounted rates for ‘early bird’ registrations. Check each event registration page for available options. 

Most of AHRI’s major events offer a discounted member rate(s), while some also offer group rates if five (5) or more member delegates register from the same organisation. Check each event registration page for available options.  

The AHRI Member Loyalty Program discounts also apply to most of the major events. 

AHRI Members may also be offered additional discounts from time to time via email.

Network Forums: All AHRI members can attend Network Forums free-of charge. Non-members who attend in-person Network Forums in regional areas can also attend for free. Non-members will be charged a fee to attend all online forums and in-person forums held in metropolitan areas (excluding Darwin & Hobart).  

Any promotional offers are exclusive and are non-transferable. Delegates are entitled to one discount per registration.

Registration Notice

General: AHRI member registration rates are not transferable to non-AHRI Members. By selecting a member registration rate, you represent that you are a current financial member of AHRI and that the registration is made in the AHRI member’s name only. A breach of this may result in a cancellation of the product/service and/or AHRI membership. 

Please note: You are not registered for an event/course until payment is confirmed. If you do not receive a confirmation email within three days, please call AHRI on 1300 811 880 to confirm that your registration has been received. Where places are limited in an event or course, they will be allocated on a strictly ‘first in’ payment basis. In the event that no space is available, you will be notified immediately and will not be charged.   

Substitutions: Should you be unable to attend, you may send a substitute in your place. AHRI must be notified of all substitutions prior to the commencement of the event/course. Refer to ‘General’ above in relation to non-member and member registration rates. 

Promotional offers and competitions

Refer to the relevant webpages for applicable promotional offers and competition terms and conditions.

Cancellation by you

General: Events: Subject to any rights you may have under law:

  • cancellations must be requested at least 14 days before the registration closing date detailed on the relevant event registration page;
  • any costs incurred by AHRI in connection with the registrant’s cancellation, including third party costs and administrative fees, will be deducted from any refund provided. In certain cases, that may result in no refund being payable where you make a cancellation request.

Should a registrant be unable to attend, they may send one substitute in their place. AHRI must be notified of all substitutions prior to the event. Refer to ‘Registration Notice’ above in relation to Substitutions.

Short Courses:  Subject to any rights you may have under law:

  • cancellations must be requested at least 14 days before the registration closing date detailed on the relevant event registration page;
  • any costs incurred by AHRI in connection with the registrant’s cancellation, including third party costs and administrative fees, will be deducted from any refund provided. In certain cases, that may result in no refund being payable where you make a cancellation request.

Should a registrant be unable to attend, they may send one substitute in their place. AHRI must be notified of all substitutions prior to the event. Refer to ‘Registration Notice’ above in relation to Substitutions.

Formal Education: Refer to the relevant applicable cancellation, withdrawal, and deferral policies and fees included in the Program Information guides and Student Handbooks.   

Cancellation by us

General: Sometimes our courses/events are cancelled, varied, rescheduled, or postponed due to Force Majeure, situations which affect the facilitators/speaker, or other causes. In these terms and conditions, a “Force Majeure Event” means any of the following (whether or not foreseeable or anticipated): acts of God, terrorism, war, civil unrest, strike or labour dispute, lack of transportation, breakdown, labour or material shortage, blockade or embargo, supplier failure, epidemic or pandemic, government restriction or recommendation, legal requirement, extreme weather, earthquake, drought, fire, flood, explosion, natural disaster, and/or any other event, cause or circumstance that is beyond our reasonable control.   

We are not responsible for airline tickets, hotel costs, other tickets or payments, or any similar fee penalties or related/unrelated losses, costs and/or expenses the registrant may incur or have incurred as a result of any cancellations or changes.  

Notification: We will use reasonable endeavours to notify registrants of a cancellation, variation, rescheduling, or postponement by sending an email to the address provided to us by the registrant and placing a notification on the relevant AHRI webpage.  

Sole remedy: To the extent permitted by law, any refund or credit issued will be your sole remedy for a postponement or cancellation of an event/course, and AHRI will have no further liability to you in respect of any cancellation, variation, rescheduling or postponement for any reason.  Any credits issued for postponed or cancelled events/courses that are not used within 12 months of the originally scheduled date of the postponed/cancelled course or event will be forfeited. 

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions and warranties relating to your registration for an AHRI event or course. Where AHRI’s liability cannot be excluded, such as in relation to the Consumer Guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law or other prescribed terms under legislation, to the extent permitted by law, our liability for breach is limited to the face value of the ticket purchased by you, plus any relevant booking and delivery fees. You agree that AHRI will not be able to perform its obligations under these terms and conditions and in relation to the programmes to the extent such performance is affected by a Force Majeure Event. To the extent permitted by law we exclude all liability for consequential loss, which includes any indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of data or loss of reputation.   

Program 

The program is confirmed at the date of publication. AHRI reserves the right to make changes to the program as circumstances dictate. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard. Should the revised program no longer meet the attendee’s expectations or requirements and they choose to cancel their registration the above “Cancellation by you” clauses will apply.  

Image release

You consent to AHRI, its agents and others working under its authority, to take and to have full and free use of video/photographs containing your image/ likeness taken at AHRI events and courses. AHRI may only use these images for promotional, news, online/ multimedia, research and/or educational purposes by and for AHRI. You agree that you are not entitled to remuneration, residuals, royalties, or any other payment from AHRI in respect of your image/likeness or its use. You release, discharge, and hold harmless, AHRI and its agents from any and all claims, demands or causes of actions that you may hereafter have by reason of anything contained in the photographs or video. Should you not agree to the above image release, you must advise AHRI by calling 1300 811 880 or email [email protected]  

Intellectual property

Some speakers may agree to share their content or recordings (where available) with only those registered or with AHRI members. This content is not intended for wider distribution – sharing, broadcasting and/or copying of this content is not permitted according to Australia’s intellectual property laws. Please be respectful of these speakers’ intellectual property so that we can continue to offer similar content in the future.  

AHRI Membership Products and Services

The following terms and conditions apply specifically to AHRI membership products and services.

Eligibility: Eligibility for AHRI membership is subject to:  

  • the eligibility requirements set out on our website in relation to the particular membership categories;  
  • the eligibility requirements set out in our governing documents; and   
  • payment of the relevant membership fee for that category of membership as set out on our website.  

AHRI reserves the right to review your application and determine the acceptance or rejection of your application in accordance with the criteria for these eligibility requirements and according to its reasonable discretion. If accepted, your AHRI membership is valid for a period of 12 months unless otherwise stated.  

AHRI constitution, code of ethics and by-laws: Upon applying to become a member of AHRI, you agree to be bound by the AHRI constitution, the code of ethics and professional conduct, and all by-laws, notices, and directives of AHRI.  

Membership Reinstatement: Non-Certified members may be reinstated at their previous membership level up to two years following their AHRI membership lapsing. Certified Practitioners (CPHR) and Fellow Certified Practitioners (FCPHR) members will need to have their membership reinstatement evaluated for approval.    

Cancellation/refund policy: Subject to any rights you may have under law, AHRI can only provide a refund of membership fees in limited circumstances, such as where your membership application has been declined, or AHRI materially fails to provide the services and benefits offered to members.  

Transfer of membership: AHRI memberships are individual and non-transferable.   

Upgrading membership: You may apply to upgrade your AHRI membership confirming you have met the eligibility requirements. Associate members on the Student or Graduate rate will be required to pay the relevant yearly membership fee in order to upgrade.
