The future of HR professionals during the 4IR

We are calling on today’s leaders to help and guide the future HR professionals in bringing technological advancements to the workforce.

One of the most important roles for HR in blending the tech and human workplace will be providing clarity and direction around task ambiguity and fears that are likely to arise as AI becomes a focal point in organisations. Thus, branching into a massive business and community problem and not just an HR issue.

The proposed research project aims to extend findings derived from Stage 1 study of the perceived preparedness of HRM professionals for the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) by identifying HR strategies and functions most likely to be affected in the digital age. The explication of competencies and capabilities required by the future HR professionals to better undertake these changing functions, and the associated responsibilities of HRM educators to revise their programs and produce 4IR work-ready HR graduates.
