Terms and Conditions
A minimum one night's deposit must be paid at the time of booking to guarantee your reservation. Your booking will not be confirmed until payment is received. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel your accommodation booking on or after Wednesday 25 July 2018; it will also be forfeited if you do not arrive on the date for which you have booked.
AHRI reserves the right to prohibit entry of any person to an AHRI event, or eject any person from an AHRI event, based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by AHRI staff and/or its agents and others working under its authority. Canvassing by delegates is strictly prohibited at AHRI events. Promotional materials may not be distributed at the event except by event sponsors and exhibitors. Delegates violating this policy will be asked to leave the event and AHRI members may have their membership revoked.
Cancellation and substitution policy
Cancellations must be notified in writing via email to the convention registration managers, Arinex. Cancellations received up to 28 business days prior to the event commencement date (by noon AEST 31 July 2018) will receive a refund less a handling fee of $150 including GST. No refunds will be given after this date; however an alternative delegate name may be submitted.
AHRI reserves the right to make changes to the program at any time as circumstances dictate. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and value is delivered should unavoidable changes occur. Registration places and Gala Dinner tickets are limited and will be allocated on a strictly 'first in' payment basis. In the event that space is unavailable, you will be notified immediately.
Discount for AHRI members from not-for-profit or charity organisations
AHRI members who work for a not-for-profit organisation or charity receive an additional discount off the individual AHRI member registration rate. Please refer to the definition by the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission to determine your eligibility. This discount does not apply to one-day only registrations and cannot be used in addition to any other discounts offered.
Exhibition Visitors are not permitted entry into the National Convention speaker sessions held in the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 28–30 August, including workshops, the Public Sector HR Conference, HR Tech Conference, the Official Opening and Keynote, and speaker presentations. Premium Visitor registrants may access the Official Opening and Keynote on 28 August only. See details below under Premium Visitor registrations. See Exhibition Visitor terms and conditions.
In registering for this conference, delegates grant permission to Australian HR Institute (AHRI), its agents and others working under its authority, to take and to have full and free use of video/photographs containing their image/likeness. It is understood these images may be used for promotional, news, online/multimedia, research and/or educational purposes by and for AHRI. Delegates agree that they are not entitled to remuneration, residuals, royalties or any other payment from AHRI in respect of their image/likeness or its use. Delegates release, discharge, and hold harmless, AHRI and its agents from any and all claims, demands or causes of actions that they may hereafter have by reason of anything contained in the photographs or video. Should a delegate not agree to the above image release, they must advise the convention registration managers, Arinex by phone (02) 9265 0700 or email.
List of participants
In registering for this convention, relevant details may be incorporated into a delegate list for the benefit of all delegates (name, organisation and state). Further details may be available to parties directly related to the convention including the convention registration managers, AHRI, venues and accommodation providers (for the purpose of room bookings, special catering and physical requirements, name tag creation and convention options). Sponsors will be supplied with the full name, title, organisation, state and email addresses of those delegates who do not 'opt out'. Exhibitors will be supplied with the full name, title, organisation and state details of those delegates who do not 'opt out'. Should you not wish for your details to be passed on for any of the above purposes, please indicate this on the electronic registration form under Delegate List Consent.
Premium Exhibition Visitor registration
Premium Exhibition Visitors gain access to the Official Opening and Keynote, and the Welcome Reception on 28 August, and to the National Convention Exhibition Hall on 29 and 30 August. Pre-registration and payment via credit card is required. Premium Visitors are not permitted entry to any other National Convention speaker sessions held in the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 28–30 August, including workshops, the Public Sector HR Conference, HR Tech Conference and speaker presentations.
AHRI is concerned with the protection of your privacy. We support the privacy principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as amended. AHRI collects and stores your personal information for the purposes of providing membership services, education and training programs. Your data may be used for:
- Event purposes: Your details will be provided to parties directly related to the event including the convention registration managers (Arinex), venues and accommodation providers for the purpose of room bookings, catering needs and other conference options.
- Communication from AHRI: AHRI may contact you about AHRI CPD events, products and services via email and/or other types of communication. Email AHRI reception <email@example.com> if you prefer not to receive communications from AHRI.
- Communication from third parties: Event sponsors and exhibitors may be provided with delegate details following the event. Please fill in the 'opt out' option on the registration form should you not wish to have your details shared with event sponsors and exhibitors.
Promotional offers and discounted registrations
Any promotional offers are exclusive and are non-transferable. Delegates are entitled to one discount per registration. Promotional offers to do not apply to one-day only registrations.
Recording of CPD hours
AHRI members will have their continuing professional development (CPD) record updated following the completion of the event. Please allow up to two months for records to be updated. Records of attendance are maintained on file by AHRI for auditing purposes. For more information on CPD, visit the AHRI website.
All prices quoted are inclusive of GST. AHRI member registration rates are not transferable to non-AHRI members. By selecting a member registration rate, it is agreed that the registrant is a current financial member of AHRI and that the registration is made in the AHRI member's name only. Any breach of this may result in a cancellation of the convention registration and/or AHRI membership.
To be eligible for the early bird discounted registration rate, registration and payment must be received by Thursday 31 May 2018. Any registrations received by this date without payment will be invoiced for the full registration amount. Registrations received after the registration closing date (Tuesday 14 August 2018) may incur a late fee. Payment in full is required to gain entry to the National Convention.
One registration may not be used or shared by several individuals. Group registration, student, not-for-profit and distance discounts and one-day registration options are available for this purpose.
Special dietary/physical requirements
Special dietary/physical requirements will be catered for if requested before the event registration closing date of Tuesday 14 August 2018. Please indicate any special requirements on your registration form or email the convention registration managers, Arinex, with your specifications. Special requests on the day cannot be guaranteed.
Travel discount for distant AHRI members
AHRI members from Western Australia, the Northern Territory and far north Queensland (Townsville and above) can receive a discount off the individual AHRI member price. This discount does not apply to one-day only registrations and cannot be used in addition to any other special discounts offered.
Some National Convention speakers have kindly agreed to share their presentation slides and webcasts with delegates only. This content is not intended for wider distribution − sharing, broadcasting and/or copying of this content is not permitted according to Australia’s intellectual property laws. Please be respectful of these speakers’ intellectual property so that we can continue to offer similar content in future events.
