Renewals

Within 48 hours of your payment being received, a receipt for your renewal payment will be automatically sent to the email address listed on your AHRI profile. If someone else is paying on your behalf, do note that the receipt will be emailed to your email address as no receipts are issued to a third party.

What happens if I don't renew my membership on time?

You have a 30-day grace period following your renewal date, during which time you can still access most of your member benefits.

For professional members, if you do not renew your HR membership before your renewal due date, your insurance cover under AHRI ProCover will cease the day after your renewal date.

AHRI ProCover only provides protection to financial professional members of AHRI, so please keep in mind that if you require a professional indemnity policy to continue to cover past HR activities, you must keep renewing your membership on time to ensure your cover remains in place. 

Professional members who do not renew on time must immediately cease using their membership level post-nominals and member logo within 60 days after their renewal date.

 

Lapsed or overdue memberships

If your membership has lapsed, you can renew your HR membership online by logging in to your AHRI member profile. Lapsed members will be charged a re-joining fee of $58. Alternatively you can email enquiries@ahri.com.au to check your details and issue you a renewal invoice; call 03 9918 9230 to pay over the phone.

Taking a break or retiring?

Suspending your membership

Travelling, on extended leave or experiencing financial difficulty? You can suspend your membership on a year-by-year basis for up to two years. You will receive a renewal notice at the end of your first year suspension period, but you may contact us anytime in the interim to reactivate your membership.

Suspending your membership allows you to retain continuous membership status, and therefore be eligible to receive benefits under AHRI's member loyalty program.

Parental leave

We offer members on parental leave a special rate of $110 per year, for a maximum of two years. You will receive a renewal notice at the end of your first year.

If you wish to continue your parental leave rate for the second year, please contact us after the renewal notice is issued.

Retired members 

To recognise their contribution to the profession, AHRI offers retired members a special rate of $110 per year. As a retired member you will continue to receive your membership benefits including AHRI ProCover insurance and stay in touch with the profession, but are exempt from any CPD requirements.

Q. What payment methods can I use to pay my membership fee?

Our preferred payment method for AHRI membership and renewal fees is online through our secure payment system using a credit card. AHRI accepts Visa, Mastercard, Diners or American Express. You can also pay by phone (03 9918 9230) by providing your credit card details, by cheque made payable to AHRI or by EFT payment.

Q. I was a member several years ago and would like to reinstate my membership. How do I do this?

You can reinstate your membership online by logging in to your online AHRI member profile. If your status is displayed as lapsed or overdue,

  • Update your contact details online by clicking the relevant pencil icon,
  • Click the "Renew Now" button and
  • Make payment.

Email enquiries@ahri.com.au with as much information as you can to help us identify your previous membership record. If you were an active AHRI member fewer than two years ago, we will issue you with a renewal notice.

If you were an active AHRI member more than two years ago, you will need to complete a new membership application and provide supporting documents.

Q. Can I renew my membership as part of my conference registration?

AHRI offers a "New Member Today" option for conference attendees to apply for a new membership in conjunction with conference registration. This offer is for new memberships only and cannot be used to renew an existing membership or to reactivate a lapsed membership.

Q. I am located outside of Australia − are my fees different?

Members located outside of Australia are not required to pay Goods and Services Tax (GST). A $32 postage fee is also payable.

Q. I recently became a member but now I don't need it anymore. Can I get a refund or transfer my membership to someone else?

Individual membership is not transferable, and membership fees are not refundable.
