Your CAHRI membership
As a current AHRI professional member (CAHRI) your professional membership gives you full access to exclusive HR resources and discounts on training and events, and means that you are covered by AHRI ProCover professional indemnity insurance.
As a CAHRI member you are also eligible to start your journey towards achieving HR certification − the industry standard for the HR profession.
Renewing your CAHRI membership
Membership fee: $390.50 per year
If you have a current CAHRI membership, you will be able to retain this level of AHRI membership in perpetuity, as long as your membership remains current into the future and you continue to meet your CPD obligations.
Should your membership be overdue by more than two months past your due date, you will cease to be an AHRI member. You will need to submit a new application for membership at a different level (for example, MAHRI) if you wish to re-join.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
AHRI professional members, Certified HR Practitioners and Certified HR Academics are required to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain their HR certification and AHRI professional membership.
By taking up AHRI's professional development opportunities and events, you can stay ahead of the latest HR trends and research while keeping your HR skills and knowledge up to date. These activities earn you CPD points along the way.
Undertaking CPD provides assurance to employers and stakeholders of an HR practitioner's contemporary skills and behaviour. Learn more
CPD Points required (Over a three-year period): 60 Hours
Types of CPD-eligible activities:
Minimum of 40 points by participating in the following activities:
Type 1 – Formal education
Type 2 – Learning activities
Type 3 – Conferences and seminars
Type 4 – Presentation of papers
The remaining 20 points may be accumulated by participating in the following activities:
Type 5 – Industry involvement
Type 6 – Service to the profession
Type 7 – Informal learning
A random sample of 10% of all CAHRI members will be audited on an annual basis.
For new or upgrading members
Although CAHRI is no longer available to new or upgrading applicants, you have other membership options:
- Professional member (MAHRI)
- Fellow member (FAHRI)
- Affiliate member (non-professional membership)
There are also two Certified HR Practitioner membership levels:
- Certified Practitioner HR (CPHR)
- Fellow Certified Practitioner HR (FCPHR)
These certified practitioner membership levels are only available to members who have successfully completed one of the certification pathways and have been awarded certification by the National Certification Council.
If you are not yet a member, you will need to join as a MAHRI level member prior to participating in the AHRI Practising Certification Program (APC) or Senior Leaders Pathway (SLP).
