Kate Witenden joined the ANU in October 2022 as the Chief People Officer.

Kate recently came from the University of Sydney, and prior to joining the Tertiary Education Sector, has had strong industry experience in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Banking and Financial Services, Corporate Travel and Public Sector (Federal).

With over 25 years’ professional experience across all aspects of the Human Resources lifecycle, Kate is a passionate advocate of People and Culture and the power to transform a business through its people. Inquisitive about the future of work and the growing need for agility and change as a permanent feature in any workplace, whilst harnessing the talent and diversity within.

She is able to bring to life strategic and business initiatives to achieve financial, commercial, and cultural outcomes through strong communication, delivery, and stakeholder engagement and management.
