Biography

Sarah Queenan is Founder and Managing Director of Humanify HR Consulting, a company established in early 2021 that takes a more contemporary and ‘human’ approach to the delivery of HR services. As a former senior public servant and senior HR leader operating in the private sector, Sarah has 20 years’ experience developing and guiding individual and organisational capability. Sarah is driven by the strong belief that great HR practice can transform organisations and dramatically improve the lives of individuals and the communities we live and work in. Trained as a lawyer at the Australian National University, with qualifications in psychology, leadership, corporate governance, coaching and HR, Sarah has a unique understanding of how people and organisations work, including the cultural, political, and regulatory environments within which the public sector operates. 

As a specialist in workplace relations with experience gained in complex environments across a range of industries including aviation, property, construction, telecommunications, maritime, education, not-for-profit and federal government, Sarah prides herself on her ability and reputation to work as a trusted partner with clients to resolve complex people matters. Sarah works with boards as an advisor and company director to help organisations reset the focus to create workplace environments that underpin optimal business performance. As a passionate advocate for the HR profession, Sarah is a convenor of the AHRI ACT ER/IR Committee, member of the AHRI National ER/IR Advisory Committee and Program Director of the HR Leadership in Practice (HRLP), a program designed to guide and strengthen HR leadership capability.
