Rocio is a Director in the Learning and Development Branch. She is responsible for multicultural training and capability which encompasses the development, delivery and implementation of multicultural awareness programs for all staff across Services Australia. She has shared this expertise across the APS, drawing on her lived experience as a migrant woman and her over 30 years in the APS.

Over the course of her career, Rocio has worked with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) customers and communities, starting in the Department of Social Security, Centrelink, the Department of Human Services and now Services Australia.

She has driven the development of Service Australia’s Multicultural Servicing Strategy, which is the agency’s contribution to the government’s multicultural access and equity framework. She is passionate about inspiring a culture that ensures continued commitment to multicultural servicing and staff cultural capability in Services Australia and across the APS.
