Workplaces talk a lot about psychosocial safety, but what does it actually mean in practice? As HR professionals and leaders, you’re often the first line of defence when workplace issues arise, yet many challenges remain hidden under the rug.
In this engaging and practical session, Nicole Turnbull will unpack the dark sides of work that create psychosocial hazards, from poor communication and toxic cultures to burnout and workplace bullying. She’ll share real-world stories from her experience working with NSW’s safety regulators, workers’ compensation, and organisations that have successfully turned things around.
Key Takeaways:
- What are the dark sides of work, and how do they impact teams?
- The role of HR in identifying, preventing, and addressing psychosocial hazards
- How to ignite courage in leaders and teams to have the right conversations
- Practical tools HR professionals can use to create safer, more engaged workplaces
Why This Matters:
Psychosocial risks aren’t just compliance issues – they’re people issues. If left unchecked, they lead to turnover, poor engagement, and long-term damage to workplace culture. By shining a light on these challenges, HR professionals can drive meaningful change and create workplaces where people thrive.
