Managing the Right to Disconnect in a world filled with connection

July 31 @ 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM AEST

Free - $20.00
Melbourne Metro Network
In a world full of constant connection, employees now have the ‘right to disconnect’…. but what does that actually mean?

After a change in legislation, the Fair Work Amendment (Right to Disconnect) Bill 2023 has provided rights to workers in Australia, to prevent employers from contacting employees outside of work hours; giving employees the right to disconnect from work-related communications outside of normal work hours.

Although this is a response to increasing concerns around work-related mental health issues, how will this look in practice?

More importantly, how will HR practitioners play a part in shaping organisations’ responses to improving employees work-life balance, productivity and overall employee wellbeing?

Our speakers; Associate Professor, John Hopkins (Swinburne) and Amanda Junkeer (Gadens Lawyers) will provide an overview of finding that balance of having sustainable digital wellbeing initiatives for employees and what that looks like in the eye of the law.
