COURSE OVERVIEW

Australian Business Lawyers and Advisors

Recent decisions by courts and tribunals about accessorial liability have meant that HR managers and other senior officers within employing organisations are finding an increasing obligation to manage the legal risk of their businesses as well as their personal legal risk.

It's been four years since the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) commenced, bringing with it a new breed of litigation for individuals and employee organisations. Understanding the areas of risk arising under laws that govern Australian workplaces is critical to issues such as recruitment, business re-organisations, dismissals and general employee engagement.

PARTICIPANTS

This course is designed for new and emerging HR managers to keep you up to date on the legislative and regulatory changes that influence the organisation's risks, rights and responsibilities.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Identify and address conduct and systemic issues that give rise to claims and grievances
  • Be better equipped to manage risk arising in the workplace.
