Nareen Young, Industry Professor, Jumbunna Institute of Education and Research

Nareen is Industry Professor at Jumbunna Institute of Education and Research. She leads Jumbunna's highly innovative Indigenous People and Work Research and Practice Hub (the Hub), the only one of its kind internationally, which focuses on robust research and analysis, policy, practice, people and law reform around the workplace experiences of Indigenous people and leads the National Indigenous employment sector.

The Hub collaborates extensively with other organisations in the employment Diversity sector, other faculties at UTS and works with private and public sector organisations as both collaborators and clients.

Nareen is one of Australia leading and most respected workplace Diversity practitioners and thinkers and led two Diversity peak bodies (Diversity Council Australia and NSW Working Women Centre), with enormous impact and success, for over 15 years and was then Director and Employment Lead at Price Waterhouse Coopers until her current appointment, Indigenous Consulting for three years . She has received numerous awards and acknowledgements for her work, has commentated widely, presented both Nationally and internationally, and published.

Nareen also has significant governance experience, spent a term as Director, Indigenous Business Australia and currently sits on the boards of Souths Cares, BlakDance, Per Capita and Diversity Arts Australia. Employment diversity work is influenced by her Indigenous and culturally diverse heritages.
