AHRI Events Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern your purchase of tickets for, and attendance at, events held by the Australian Human Resources Institute Limited (AHRI, we, us, our). It is your responsibility to review these terms and conditions prior to the purchase of tickets. By purchasing tickets you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and will provide the most recent version on our website.

Code of Conduct

Health & Safety: you must agree to comply with the required health and safety processes and protocols in place at the event or forum. You must not attend if have any symptoms of illness associated with the Covid-19 Corona Virus.

Behaviour: You are expected to behave in a professional and appropriate manner at all events. AHRI reserves the right to prohibit entry of any person to an AHRI event or eject any person from an AHRI event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by AHRI staff and/or its agents and others working under its authority.

You acknowledge that recording of AHRI events (including the speakers, their presentations, delegate and AHRI staff) is prohibited unless permission is provided in advance.

Canvassing: by delegates is strictly prohibited at AHRI events and forums. Promotional materials may not be distributed at the event/forum except by event sponsors. If you violate this policy, you will be asked to leave the event and your AHRI membership may be revoked.

Registration notice

General: AHRI member registration rates are not transferable to non-AHRI members. By selecting a member registration rate, you warrant that you are a current financial member of AHRI and that the registration is made in the AHRI member's name only. A breach of this may result in a cancellation of an event registration and/or AHRI membership.

Non-Members who pay the non-member rate, but have applied for AHRI membership, can request a refund for the cost difference provided their membership is approved prior to the commencement of the event.

You are not registered for an event until payment is received (for paid events) or you receive a confirmation email. To ensure your registration is confirmed please contact cpdevents@ahri.com.au.

Substitutions: Should you be unable to attend, you may send a substitute in your place. AHRI must be notified in writing of all substitutions prior to the event. Refer to 'General' above in relation to non-member and member registration rates.

Sharing registrations: Each attendee needs a separate registration. One registration cannot be utilised by several individuals. For larger events a variety of discounts and registration options are available (see below).

Registration Discounts

General: Most of AHRI’s major events offer a discounted member rate(s), while some also offer member and non-member group rates if five (5) or more delegates register from the same organisation. Check each event registration page for available options.

In addition, the AHRI Member Loyalty Program discounts also apply to most of the major events. An early bird discounted rate may also be available if tickets are purchased before the specified date.

Network Forums: All AHRI members can attend Network Forums free-of charge. Non-members who attend in-person Network Forums in regional areas can also attend for free. Non-members will be charged a fee to attend online forums and in-person forums held in a most metropolitan area (this excludes Darwin & Hobart).

AHRI Convention: Discounts are available for registered charities and not-for-profit organisation (registered on the ACNC website), current AHRI Student and Graduate members, international and distance (WA, NT & Far North Queensland residents) members. There are also specific rates for groups of five (5) or more in size.

Any promotional offers are exclusive and are non-transferable. Delegates are entitled to one discount per registration. These discounts do not apply to one-day only registrations and cannot be used in addition to any other discounts offered.

Payment

General: All prices are inclusive of GST. Payment in full is required by the event date in order to attend. To secure your attendance, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not completed payment will not be on the event attendance list and may not be admitted to the event (due to available capacity) or receive their link to online events.

Invoices: When you complete and sign your copy of the registration form, this becomes a tax invoice in compliance with ATO requirements. This can be used to make payment by Electronic Funds Transfer, Credit Card, or cheque and you can keep this completed form on file for your tax records.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT): If paying via EFT, a completed copy of the registration form along with a remittance advice is needed for the registration to be processed. Payment by EFT will not be accepted after the closing date. Your registration is not confirmed until you have received a receipt and confirmation email.

Please note: AHRI's standard invoice payment terms are 14 days from date of issue. For manual registration forms this applies from the date the invoice is submitted to AHRI.

Special dietary/physical requirements

These requirements will not be catered for unless requested before the event registration closing date. Please note down clearly your requirements (where indicated) on your online registration form or email the AHRI CPD Events team (cpdevents@ahri.com.au), with your specifications. Special requests on the day cannot be guaranteed.

Cancellation by you

General: Cancellations must be received in writing before the registration closing date. An administration fee of $50 for breakfast and lunch events applies for all cancellations made before the registration closing date. No refunds will be given after the registration closing date unless required under applicable consumer law. Places are limited and will be allocated on a strictly 'first in' payment basis.

In the event that no space is available, you will be notified immediately and will not be charged. If you do not receive a confirmation email within three days, please call the AHRI CPD Events team on 03 9918 9243 to confirm that your registration has been received.

Network Forums: Cancellations must be received in writing to cpdevents@ahri.com.au. Where payment is required for a network forum, if the cancellation is not received prior to the registration close date, funds will not be refunded.

Cancellation by us

General: Sometimes our events are cancelled, varied, rescheduled, or postponed due to Force Majeure Events, situations which affect the speaker or other causes.

In these terms and conditions, a “Force Majeure Event” means any of the following (whether or not foreseeable or anticipated): acts of God, terrorism, war, civil unrest, strike or labour dispute, lack of transportation, breakdown, labour or material shortage, blockade or embargo, supplier failure, epidemic or pandemic, government restriction or recommendation, legal requirement, extreme weather, earthquake, drought, fire, flood, explosion, natural disaster, and/or any other event, cause or circumstance that is beyond our reasonable control.

Postponement: If an event is postponed you may, by notifying us no later than 30 days after the originally scheduled date of the postponed event, obtain a credit for the ticket price to put towards another of our events that occurs within 24 months of the originally scheduled date of the postponed event and, if required by law, we will also offer you the alternative option of having your ticked price refunded.

New event not announced: If an event is cancelled by us and/or a new date for the event is not announced within 60 days of the postponement/cancellation:

  • in circumstances where the event is cancelled due to a Force Majeure Event, you will be given a credit for the ticket price to put towards any other AHRI event, product or service and must be used within 12 months of the originally scheduled date of the cancelled event, and where required by law, we will offer you the alternative of receiving a refund of your ticket price;
  • in circumstances where the event is cancelled for any reason other than a Force Majeure Event, you may, at your option exercisable by notifying us in writing no later than 30 days after the originally scheduled date of the cancelled event, obtain a choice of credit note or refund of the ticket price (excluding booking, credit card and other fees).

If you so elect, or if you fail to notify us in writing of your request for a refund within 30 days after the originally scheduled date of the cancelled event, you will be given a credit for the ticket price to put towards another of our events that occurs within 24 months of the originally scheduled date of the cancelled event.

Notification: We will use reasonable endeavours to notify ticket holders of a cancellation, variation, rescheduling or postponement of an event by sending an email to the address provided to us by the ticket holder and putting a notice on our website; however the responsibility to ascertain whether an event has been cancelled, varied, rescheduled or postponed is yours.

Sole remedy: Any refund or credit issued will be your sole remedy for a postponement or cancellation of an event, and, to the extent permitted by law, AHRI will have no further liability to you in respect of any cancellation, variation, rescheduling or postponement of an event for any reason. Any credits issued for postponed or cancelled events that are not used within 24 months of the originally scheduled date of the postponed/cancelled event will be forfeited.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions and warranties relating to your purchase of tickets for and attendance at events. Where AHRI’s liability cannot be excluded, such as in relation to Consumer Guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law or other prescribed terms under legislation, to the extent permitted by law, our liability for breach is limited to the face value of the ticket purchased by you, plus any relevant booking and delivery fees. You agree that AHRI will not be able to perform its obligations under these terms and conditions and in relation to events to the extent such performance is affected by a Force Majeure Event.

To the extent permitted by law we exclude all liability for consequential loss, which includes any indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of data or loss of reputation.

Program

The program is confirmed at the date of publication. AHRI reserves the right to make changes to the program as circumstances dictate. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard.

Recording of CPD points

AHRI members who register for AHRI events/forums on or before the registration closing date will have their CPD record updated automatically. Records will be updated at the completion of the event/forum. It is the responsibility of AHRI members who view on-demand recordings of events to update their own CPD record manually. AHRI members who have registered for an AHRI event/forum but are unable to attend, are responsible for notifying AHRI of non-attendance by emailing cpdevents@ahri.com.au. Privacy notice

AHRI is concerned with the protection of your privacy. AHRI collects and stores your personal information in accordance with the privacy principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as amended, for the purposes of providing membership services, education and training programs, and to manage our relationship with you. You consent to us collecting, holding, using and disclosing your information for the following purposes:

Communication from AHRI: AHRI may use your details to promote products and services in the form of email communications and/or other types of communication. Update your personal AHRI website profile preferences or email enquiries@ahri.com.au if you would prefer not to receive communications from AHRI.

For the purposes of the event: Your details may be provided to parties directly related to the conference including the conference registration manager, venues and accommodation providers for the purpose of room bookings, catering needs and other conference options.

Communication from third parties: AHRI may share delegate details with event sponsors and exhibitors following the event. Should you not wish for your details to be shared with the event sponsors and exhibitors contact cpdevents@ahri.com.au to opt out. View AHRI's full privacy policy.

Image Release

In registering for AHRI events and conferences, delegates consent for AHRI, its agents and others working under its authority, to take and to have full and free use of video/photographs containing their image/ likeness taken at AHRI events and conferences. AHRI may only use these images for promotional, news, online/ multimedia, research and/or educational purposes by and for AHRI. Delegates agree that they are not entitled to remuneration, residuals, royalties or any other payment from AHRI in respect of their image/likeness or its use. Delegates release, discharge, and hold harmless, AHRI and its agents from any and all claims, demands or causes of actions that they may hereafter have by reason of anything contained in the photographs or video. Should a delegate not agree to the above image release, they must advise AHRI by contacting (03) 9918 9200 or enquiries@ahri.com.au.

Intellectual property: Some speakers may agree to share their presentation slides and webcasts (where available) with delegates only. This content is not intended for wider distribution – sharing, broadcasting and/or copying of this content is not permitted according to Australia’s intellectual property laws. Please be respectful of these speakers’ intellectual property so that we can continue to offer similar content in future events.

Other

If any provision of these terms and conditions is deemed invalid or unenforceable, all or part of that provision will be severed from the terms and conditions and will not affect the enforceability of the remaining provisions of the terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
