Managing the legal issues across the employment lifecycle

Overview

Recent decisions by courts and tribunals about accessorial liability have meant that HR managers and other senior officers within employing organisations are finding an increasing obligation to manage the legal risk of their businesses as well as their personal legal risk.

It's been some time since the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) commenced, bringing with it a new breed of litigation for individuals and employee organisations. Understanding the areas of risk arising under laws that govern Australian workplaces is critical to issues such as recruitment, business re-organisations, dismissals and general employee engagement.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify and address conduct and systemic issues that give rise to claims and grievances
  • Be better equipped to manage risk arising in the workplace.

This course runs for one day and the interactive workshop focuses on practical strategies, group discussion and presentation of a compliance framework.
