Overview
HR law underpins much of the work that HR practitioners do across the employment lifecycle.
This course provides participants with an overview of what is meant by ‘HR Law’ and key elements that HR practitioners need to be aware of in their practice.
Participants will learn about key pieces of legislation, including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), to gain an understanding of the key elements of legislation, regulation and practices that impact the HR function.
Key learning outcomes
Following the training participants will be able to:
- Identify the key provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and amendments to the Act and other relevant legislation as it applies to the employment relationship
- Describe the role and responsibilities of regulatory bodies in the governing of the employment relationship
- Identify any compliance gaps/issues in the organisation and establish a plan to address these gaps and issues
