I have been a professional trainer/facilitator for almost 20 years.  I spent 6 years in Asia Pacific and China helping HR Business partners step up into more strategic positioning, teaching them change management, strategic thinking, team effectiveness and leadership coaching.

What advice would you offer to someone considering a career in HR?

Get to know all parts of your business.  Make it your business to understand the product cycle from inception to point of sale.  Know your organisations customers deeply.  And read the financial review.  It’s the best way I know to be on top of what your customers and competitors are doing.
