IHRP Mutual Recognition Pathway

This pathway is available to HR practitioners who have achieved the IHRP Certified Professional (IHRP-CP), IHRP Senior Professional (IHRP-SP) or IHRP Master Professional (IHRP-MP) certification levels from IHRP in Singapore.

In November 2018 the Singapore Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) and the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) signed a mutual partnership agreement, enabling certified professionals to achieve mutual recognition from both IHRP and AHRI through the respective bridging pathways.

Bridging process of IHRP to AHRI certification

The following describes the bridging pathway for IHRP current certified professionals to gain AHRI certification.

Level 1 – IHRP Certified Professional (IHRP-CP)

Certified Practitioner HR (CPHR)

BRIDGING PATHWAY 1 

Eligibility criteria:

  • 5 years’ HR experience OR 2 years’ HR experience with a relevant undergraduate degree; AND
  • For mid level HR practitioners

Application requirements:

  • Complete Unit 4 of the AHRI Practicing Certification Program (APC) – “Applied project in organisational capability”
  • Note: Requirement to undertake APC Units 1 – 3 has been waived in recognition of the IHRP certification process.

Unit 4 requirements:

  • Work on an HR initiative in the workplace over a period of 30 weeks that has the endorsement of a work-based sponsor.
  • Assessment 1 (due week 7) – Project proposal (signed off by sponsor)
  • Assessment 2 (due week 30) – Work based report on the project identifying impact through metrics in the workplace.
  • Assessment 3 (due week 30) – Learning journal on reflections during the project implementation.
  • Supported by an Academic Coordinator throughout the 30 weeks together with resource materials.

BRIDGING PATHWAY 2 

Eligibility criteria:

  • 10 years’ HR work experience AND
  • With 5 years in a senior leadership role

Application requirements:

  • Submission of a case study of an HR initiative they have implemented in the past 5 years
  • Interview with the National Certification Council

Certification fees: AUD $600 (S$559)

Annual membership fees: AUD $396/year (S$369)

Note:

  1. Member of the Australian HR Institute (MAHRI) membership will be awarded on commencement of the bridging process
  2. Certified Practitioner HR (CPHR) will be awarded on successful completion of the bridging process
Level 2 – IHRP Senior Professional (IHRP-SP)

  • With 5 years in a senior leadership role

Fellow Certified Practitioner HR (FCPHR)

  • Contribution to the HR profession 

Application requirements:

  • Submission of a case study of an HR initiative they have implemented in the past 5 years
  • Interview with the National Certification Council

Certification fees: AUD $600 (S$559)

Annual membership fees: AUD $462/year (S$430)

Who can apply?

Current Chartered Members and Academics who have already achieved with the CIPD, the levels of

  • Chartered MCIPD/ FCIPD or
  • Academic MCIPD/ FCIPD

will be automatically recognised at the equivalent of the new certified practitioner or academic levels, and can apply for an AHRI membership under the terms of the reciprocity agreement.

AHRI may request evidence of a completed CIPD qualification or experience assessment in addition to your CV and evidence of your CIPD membership.

Annual AHRI membership fees

  • $220 (including GST) per year for applicants within Australia

Please note:

  • GST is not applicable for members residing outside of Australia, however overseas members will be charged a $32 postage fee in addition to their membership fee. This additional fee includes the international postage charges to send HRM magazine by mail. If you do not wish to receive a printed copy of the magazine, please let us know via [email protected] and we will remove this additional fee from your membership charges. You will still be able access a digital copy of the HRM magazine through your AHRI member profile.
  • Past or lapsed CIPD members will need to renew their CIPD membership to apply for AHRI membership under the terms of this agreement
