For Student and Graduate AHRI Members, this is your opportunity to gain the experience that will give you a competitive edge when you are applying for jobs.
AHRI Organisation Members are also invited to participate in the program by hosting AHRI Student and Graduate Members in their organisation.
How to apply
If you are already a paid AHRI Student or Graduate Member you will be able to build an online personal profile and submit an application for a work experience placement detailing your studies, skills and other experience. See below for how to apply.

ABOUT THE WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENT PROGRAM
Securing one of our work experience placements will make your CV stand out in the crowd when you graduate and give you some valuable insight into the realities of working in HR. You will have the chance to put studies into practice and hone in on areas of HR that you would like to pursue further whilst gaining valuable experience and contacts.
In the first intake, 46 students took part in placements within 20 organisations in a variety of HR roles around the country. The reputation of the program is strong, with organisations often taking more than one student at a time, with a record of 9 students being placed with one organisation. AHRI was also very pleased to see some of these students find employment with their organisations, and to find organisations seeking AHRI graduates for their vacant HR roles.

HOW TO APPLY
Click on the CREATE MY PROFILE button above. You will be directed to the WEPP platform which will allow you to complete your CV, experience and a personal and interpersonal skills analysis.
This portal is open to paid student members and graduate members and will allow you to create a personal profile which includes the information about your current or completed studies, work experience, special interests and work readiness. Your profile will be reviewed against the criteria set out by organisations offering placements and when an appropriate match is found, you may be offered a work experience placement.
Please take care to complete all the sections as incomplete applications will not be considered.
All current financial student and graduate members are eligible to apply for this program. Student membership must be maintained as financial during the application process, as well as during the time of any placement.

Organisations wishing to host a candidate are required to be an AHRI Organisation Member. To find out if you or your organisation has a membership, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications for the WEPP will be open from the 9 April to 11 May 2018. Up until this point candidates and organisations are able to edit the existing profile.
IMPORTANT: The matching process will commence after the intake has closed. AHRI will contact you directly if a placement opportunity has been identified for you. Due to the large number of applications we anticipate receiving, responses to general enquiries on application progress status may be delayed.
Once the intake has closed, your application will be reviewed against the criteria of available placements submitted by participating AHRI Organisation members. If your application is an appropriate match for what an organisation is looking for, you will be shortlisted and notified by email that you have made it through the first stage and are now required to submit a cover letter to formally apply.
If you are invited to apply for a placement position, you will be provided with a brief description of the organisation and type of candidate they are seeking. Cover letters will be expected to be 1 page and due 2 days from the time you are offered to apply. This includes weekends so ensure you check your emails regularly. Please take the time to investigate the organisation with the placement available and consider their requirements. You will then send your cover letter directly to the contact at the organisation.
Organisations offering work experience placements will be given a short list of potential candidates and will be supplied your AHRI generated CV, skills assessment and cover letter. The organisation may choose to contact you for a telephone interview for further information. The organisation's decision on the successful candidate is final and AHRI will communicate the outcomes via email to all successful and unsuccessful candidates.
If you are successful in securing a work experience placement, it is expected that the placement will be undertaken during the allocated placement period. The exact time of the placement and duration of the placement will be negotiated with the organisation but will be minimum one week and no more than three weeks full time. The placement may be split over the four week period (eg 2 days per week) according to the organisation’s needs.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following terms and conditions apply to the Work Experience Placement Program:
"AHRI" - Australian Human Resources Institute Ltd (ABN: 44 120 687 149)
"Organisation" - AHRI Organisation Member or representative from that organisation
"Candidate" - AHRI Student or Graduate member that has completed a profile to participate in the WEPP
"WEPP" - Work Experience Placement Program
"Profile" - Details entered into the WEPP by either the Organisation or Candidate during an intake to collect information to base the placement matches on
"Opportunity" - Details of a placement created by the Organisation that a Candidate will be matched against
"Matching process" - period in which AHRI provides the organisation with a shortlist of candidates, the organisation reviews candidates and makes a final selection
"Placement" - Period that the candidate is situated in the organisation during work experience
- The organisation who submits an application to the WEPP which includes a profile and opportunity to host one or more students do so voluntarily
- Candidates who submit an application to the WEPP and create a profile do so voluntarily
- To participate in the WEPP, candidates are required to hold a fully financial student or graduate membership and maintain this membership through out the matching process, until the placement is complete
- Candidates will indicate in their profile if their university will provide workplace insurance cover during their placement. If candidates indicate that they are covered, they must produce documentation if requested by AHRI or the organisation
- Organisations can choose not to consider a candidate based on their insurance status
- A placement confirmed without a candidate confirming insurance cover from their university places the insurance liability on the organisation
- AHRI does not take responsibility for insurance during WEPP placements
- Organisation and candidates can withdraw from the WEPP at any time by notifying AHRI via email@example.com
- By creating a profile, the candidate agree to the information in their profile being shared with Organisations during the matching process
- By creating a profile, the organisation agrees to the information in their profile being shared with candidates during the matching process
- By creating a profile, the organisation and candidate are agreeing to receive emails relating specifically to the WEPP during the matching process, prior to the placement and post the placement occurring
