Upgrading your membership
Are you at the right membership level? If you would like to upgrade your membership please refer to the below information.
Upgrading to Graduate Member (GAHRI) or Professional Member (MAHRI)
If you have a student membership you can upgrade to Graduate Member (GAHRI) or Professional Member (MAHRI) by completing the form below. You will need to have evidence of your completed qualification and your CV ready to attach.
Student members can upgrade to Graduate Membership (GAHRI) or Professional Membership (MAHRI) via the student upgrade form. Please email your completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org along with your supporting documents.
Free student members can upgrade to paid student membership here.
Affiliates and professional members
Please download the Professional Member Upgrade Form, and email it along with your completed documents to email@example.com
A non-refundable $55 upgrade assessment fee is payable.
Note: Upgrades to CAHRI will only be available until 31 December 2017. No applicants will be admitted to the CAHRI membership level after this date.
Upgrade to FAHRI
If you are upgrading to FAHRI, you will need to complete the Professional Member Upgrade Application Form and a Fellow membership submission form. Please refer to the Fellow membership submission guide to ensure your submission provides us with the information we need.
Linked individuals under an organisation membership
If you are linked to an AHRI organisation membership you are not required to complete the above application form and the $55 fee is also waived. Please email your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org
HR Certification - become a Certified HR Practitioner
If you would like to become a Certified Practitioner Human Resources (CPHR) or a Fellow Certified Practitioner Human Resources (FCPHR) please refer to the information on the HR Certification pages to decide on the best pathway to complete.
1) How do I know what membership level I'm at?
Visit your profile on the AHRI website (you'll need to sign in first) and look for your member type in the top left hand corner.
2) How do I know if I'm an individual member or if I'm linked to an organisation membership?
If you are linked to an organisation membership your member type will say "Corporate" before your membership level. e.g Corporate MAHRI
3) How long does it take for my upgrade application to be reviewed?
Upgrades are normally processed within 10 business days for all membership levels except FAHRI. FAHRI applications can take several weeks to be reviewed.
4) How will I know if my application has been approved
All upgrade applicants will be notified of the outcome via email in the first instance. Upgrade packs will also be posted out (except for free student member upgrading to paid student member), and will include a new certificate of membership.
Professional members receive free professional indemnity insurance as part of their membership.
