Congratulations! You're joining AHRI - Australia's national membership association for HR professionals and people managers.  Now you are just a few of steps away from accessing services, benefits and information that is only available for our members.

Becoming an AHRI member is easy:

Step 1: Choose your membership type

Choose the membership type you wish to apply for. We have a range, so make sure you're selecting the membership that is best suited to your background and needs. Our professional-level membership types (Graduate, MAHRI, CAHRI and FAHRI) each have specific work experience and qualification requirements. The AHRI membership team will review your application and contact you if you do not meet the correct requirements. If this is the case, we will help steer you to the right membership for you.

Step 2: Complete a joining form

Complete one of the membership forms below with your personal details and basic employment or study details (if applicable). This application will also create your new membership profile.Please take note of the username and password that you create, as you will use these details to access the member only pages of the website once your membership application is completed.

Make sure you have your credit card ready if joining online to pay for your first year's membership. Contact the team at AHRI at any time if you have any questions about membership and the joining process.

Step 3: Receive your welcome pack

After completing an online application form, the AHRI membership team will receive, review and process your application. Please allow up to 7 days for your application to be reviewed. A confirmation email will be sent to you once complete.  You will be posted a new member pack in the mail within 7 days of your membership being confirmed. Your receipt will automatically be emailed in one business day.

Non professional membership

Student Membership $33
If you are a full-time or part-time student, studying at a tertiary level or equivalent, in HR, business, commerce or psychology you can join AHRI as a student member. The membership is designed for students that have not yet entered into the workforce and/or are not currently working in an HR role.

Affiliate Membership $300
Affiliate membership is suitable for people working in HR who do not yet meet the requirements to apply for a professional membership, or for those with people management responsibilities but HR is not their primary function.

Professional membership

Please review the Professional Membership Criteria to ensure you meet the minimum requirements and have the relevant documents available to upload as part of your application.

Graduate Membership $132
If you have graduated from a HR relevant qualification (minimum of a Bachelor degree) within the last 2 years, please provide:

  • 1. Proof of your Graduation (eg, academic transcript or certificate/testamur, and
  • 2. Current CV.

This membership level is not suitable for people who have 4 or more year's of HR relevant experience.

Professional Member (MAHRI) $360
Please provide:

  • 1. Your detailed CV (If you do not have an undergraduate qualification your CV will need to demonstrate 4+ years of HR relevant experience). OR
  • 2. Your CV and your HR relevant undergraduate qualification certificate or academic transcript

Join online as a MAHRI member

Professional Member (CAHRI) $360
Please provide:

  • 1. Your AHRI accredited or HR relevant postgraduate qualification certificate or academic transcript, and
  • 2. Your detailed CV demonstrating 5+ years of HR relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years in HR management or HR leadership positions.
  • If you do not have a postgraduate qualification please upload Your detailed CV demonstrating 8+ years of HR relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years in HR management or HR leadership positions.

Join online as a CAHRI member

Fellow (FAHRI) $420

Applicants for Fellow must complete the Fellow Application Submission, which will ask you to provide:

  • 1. Strategic and senior HR experience,
  • 2. References from two senior peers,
  • 3. Demonstrated contribution to the profession,
  • 4. Proof of an postgraduate qualification OR
  • 5. Equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in a current CV.

Organisation membership

First make sure your company is not already a member. See our directory of organisation members or call a member of the AHRI team to do this.

Then complete the PDF registration form. There is not an online joining option for organisation membership. Print, complete and return the form to AHRI by email, fax or post (details are on the form).

Manual Application Forms

If you are unable to complete your application form online please email members@ahri.com.au and we can email you a printable form. You will need to email the completed form back to us for processing along with the relevant supporting documents. Manual applications will incur a $55 processing fee.
