Susan Ryan Age Diversity Award
Following an internal review of the employee life cycle through a mature age lens, Suncorp Group identified a gap in the attraction of mature age workers and a potential risk in the loss of organisational knowledge due to retirement.
It was important to engage our existing mature age employees in solving this challenge. A mature age employee resource group (ERG), LIFE-X, was formed to:
• enable greater understanding of their unique benefits and challenges,
• build relationships, engagement and inclusion,
• support diverse late-stage career options and;
• understand brand reputation.
Aligned with the Age Diversity pillar of Suncorp’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy, LIFE-X supported solutions to bridge gaps across the employee lifecycle. These included:
• developing an Intergenerational Mentoring Program,
• informing human-centred design workshops and the mature age stream of Suncorp’s Employment Pathways Program and
• targeted learning offerings.
