Ian Hedges FAHRI
Ian has over 20 years HR experience within the mining, paper, building products and heavy construction materials industries. Ian started as an Electrical Engineer with BHP and after 8 years transitioned via a training role to HR. Ian wanted to change the then poor reputation of the function by demonstrating the impact and contribution HR can have. Ian has demonstrated this especially through HR Leadership roles in Australia, Asia and Northern Europe. Ian is seeking his fourth term on Council and is looking forward to continue to add value to the profession / institute for the benefit of its members.
Rita DÁrcy FAHRI
A seasoned and commercially astute people and culture thought leader, with 20+ years multi-discipline HR experience, acquired through strategic leadership roles in local global organisations, including 7 years' experience as Executive GM, HR IKEA. In 2008, I established Particularly People and provide consulting services to a diverse client portfolio. Resulting from a philosophy of life-long learning and passion for developing upcoming leaders / HR Professions, I devote time to HR program design / delivery (Diploma Level), keynote speaking, mentoring, and writing articles. Additional expertise I would bring to this role includes professionalism, advocacy and advisory skills for the continued development of the profession, and effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Joanna Copeland MAHRI
Joanna Copeland has a strong background in Generalist HR, including consulting and management of medium-large sized organisations in a variety of industries. Joanna currently works as a Group Human Resource Advisor for Wilhelmsen Investments, Sydney. This role includes performance management, employee relations, training, policy development and documentation. Joanna is passionate about seeing innovative practices and member engagement in AHRI to build the next generation of Human Resource Professionals. She is actively involved in NSW Young Professional networking group, and has volunteered to be a mentor for the past two years in the AHRI Mentoring Program. She is a 'Guest' on the NSW AHRI Council and looks forward to actively contribute as an official NSW Council Member. Joanna would be honoured to be accepted for this role and would offer her enthusiastic support to AHRI.
Zaklina Civijovski CAHRI
I have served for 12 months as Director of the Board for Youthsafe. I am committed and passionate about the HR profession and its strategic positioning in influencing business.
Maree Slater FAHRI
Maree has 30 years' experience (mostly at a senior executive level) in all facets of strategic and operational HR, across a broad range of industry sectors (legal, engineering, infrastructure, media, IT, automotive manufacturing, defence and electricity distribution) and ownership models (ASX, private and government owned.) She is passionate about advancing the strategic capability of the HR fraternity. As a member of the AHRI council Maree would work assiduously to reinforce and highlight the fact that a first class HR profession is both a genuine precondition for the transformation of enterprises specifically and for the improvement of society generally.
Robert Phipps CAHRI
With a law degree and career beginning in Operations and Retail, Rob Phipps has 20+ years HR experience primarily at executive level and currently heads the HR function for YUM! Brands, a $1.6B business across Australia and New Zealand. Rob has also led HR functions in businesses across the UK and South Africa. Most recently, Rob has been a guest speaker for the CEO Forum and HR Director Forum and will be a guest speaker in Singapore for the 3rd Annual HR Excellence Conference in October 2014. He is an avid cyclist, having raised over $60K for the Tour de Cure foundation over the past 3 years and lives in Sydney with his wife and two children.
Calvin Wang CAHRI
Dr Calvin Wang is Courses Director in the Faculty of Business, Charles Sturt University. He brings over 25 years of industry and academic experience to the HR Profession, and currently works to develop university programs that advance professional standards of competence in HR and produce job-ready graduates who can lead and manage people. Calvin's contribution to the HR profession is his commitment to foster a closer link between the Profession and academia to ensure that future generations of HR graduates have practical knowledge and skills valued by industry. He is committed to growing AHRI and student membership.
Caren Schadel MAHRI
Caren Schadel has held a number of HR Executive roles with experience in the IT, Telecommunications, Services, Property and Engineering sectors. Roles have focussed on leading the function at a regional, global and/or divisional level. Caren has particular experience managing the HR function across APAC. Large scale change projects within HR itself and the business more broadly have been a key feature. Caren has a particular interest in developing management and leadership capability within organisations and working with senior teams to implement significant change across the business at large.
Peter McLean FAHRI
Do you want a strong and progressive Council that delivers value for money?? Peter will deliver a dynamic leadership, based on experience and knowledge. He has vast experience as a HR professional and manager, across an array of industry groups, both nationally and internationally. Peter has previous AHRI Council experience in both New South Wales and Queensland, where he developed, created and served on many project teams and regional groups to advance the engagement and knowledge of HR practitioners across the State. Megan Bromley MAHRI
As RedBalloon's Head of Employee Experience and Company Secretary, I work closely with our CEO, Founder and leadership team to champion the RedBalloon culture. I continually innovate the employee experience framework to ensure RedBalloon remains a great place to work. I am responsible for recruitment, training and development, our reward and recognition program, our wellness program, employment policies and procedures as well as legal employment matters. I live, promote and instil the RedBalloon values and am passionate about giving back to the HR community through networking, speaking and the AHRI mentoring program.
