WA State Council


AHRI members are represented by their State Council. These are comprised of elected professional level members. Nominations for council positions are invited from all AHRI members each February and elections held in March. Congratulations to the new and re-elected councillors listed below.

Helen joined the WA State Council in 2010 and has been both WA Vice President, Professional Development, and Vice President, Membership. Her key focus as President is to build on the Student Ambassador program as well as supporting the certification process to ensure AHRI engages with the next generation of HR practitioners. Helen is a teacher for AHRI’s Practising Certification Program in Perth.

Helen has held senior HR roles in state public sector agencies before moving to academia, completing her PhD in organisational restructuring and downsizing, and teaching SHRM and ER. She is currently self-employed, consulting in organisational restructuring and development, as well as conducting workplace investigations and advising on employment relations matters.
